One thing I will say about the SANS course though - if anyone pIans to go for the GISP - indexing the shit out of the books will get you most of the way there (GIAC lets you use your course content if it's physically in front of you). I scored high enough to be asked to be a mentor using that approach. I dont think they are worth the money, some parts are good though, like the crypto sections. They spend too much times on areas that you are not going to be really tested on, like a whole cbt on 'fires', and not enough time on the things that are important like SDLC and BCP. Cybrary is much better and free. You can to a 7 day free trial, watch all the nuggets and then cancel though. Just have to cancel on the 6th day so you won't get charged.
